Digital Media Policy
CLUB HEIGHTS ELEMENTARY POLICY ON DIGITAL MEDIA
DEVICES (DMD) INCLUDING CELL PHONES
Club Heights is committed to ensuring that a DMD does not interfere with instructional time, safety procedures, or infringe on the privacy of others. In order to do this, the following procedures will apply to the use of a DMD on school property during school hours.
DMDs including cell phones, music devices, gaming devices, etc. may only be used before and after school. They are not to be seen, heard, or used during school hours.
Misused electronic devices may be confiscated and will be available for parent or guardian pickup in the office.
The first offense is a warning. The second and third offense may include but not be limited to loss of free time, behavior contract, in-school suspension, or out-of-school suspension.
The office phone is available for students to contact parents in case of a school issue or emergency. Parents should call the school to get messages to their child.
School personnel will not be held responsible for electronic devices that are lost or missing.
School administration may search digital media devices based on reasonable suspicion that they may contain evidence of a violation of school/district rules or policy.
School district policies and State and Federal laws regarding illegal content of electronic devices will be enforced.
Any exceptions to the above procedures must be approved by the principal.
